Jibal Solidarity Fund Emergency Work Update
Jibal has been supporting community kitchens that supply displaced communities with meals, as well as supporting farmers with food parcels and cash and playing a coordination role within the grassroot support community.
Summary: What Was Done So Far (Updated 4 Nov 2026)
The support for our displaced communities, and for those residing in war ridden areas of the country, has been continuing steadily throughout the past months. Since Jibal’s mission has always been rooted in resilience and justice rather than aid, our emergency relief work has always been a reaction to the reality forced upon our communities through war, and so we have been gradually shifting our support towards long term planning and sustainability.
We have continued our backing of community kitchens, and expanded the support for farmers residing in, or displaced from the areas under israeli aggression.
Kitchen Support:
Food supplies were provided to community kitchens and the total to date has reached 150,997 meals.
Some changes did occur with the kitchen support recently, our support of the Migrant Community kitchen in Daoura which is still preparing meals for vulnerable families in Dahieh, started its shift towards going beyond cash assistance and into building a sustainable model for the kitchen, support them with their internal structure, networking, and long term funding plans. In addition to that, early October, the Evangelical School shelter stopped preparing meals after its residents returned to their villages. The Shelter in Borj Hammud continues to host communities displaced from border villages.
Farmer Support:
In addition to earlier cash assistance and food parcels, a modest cash assistance was distributed in the past few weeks to 19 farmers from Houla and other border villages, who have been displaced for 3 years already, for the value of 200USD each, a total of 3,800USD.
Jibal also directed a budget from funded projects to provide in kind support for 34 farmers who are still in the South or had just returned to their lands. The support included seeds, compost, seedling vouchers for agricultural supplies such as plastic for greenhouses, water tanks, beehives, irrigation material…
All future crowdfund money will be poured into the efforts described above and based on gaps identified with the development of the situation on the ground.
We thank you for your solidarity and trust.
In Solidarity,
Jibal Team
